Tom and Ian, directors of New Build Carpentry Limited, got teamed up because of a large demand for roof works to be completed at a Persimmon Homes site in Durrington. From the off they worked really well together creating systems of efficient work that enabled them to be a very successful pairing.

A year later, Ian Tagg was contacted by the Contracts Manger to be site supervisor for a 100 unit site in Salisbury with Tom being his right hand man. It was at this site that both Ian and Tom realised that they had the same dream of one day setting up a company that would compete with the biggest carpentry companies.

Five years later, both directors had run and supervised jobs in Salisbury, North Baddesley and Broughton for some of the biggest house builders in the country. Having both built respectable names as carpenters in the South, in 2017 they wanted to take the risk of going out on their own. It was that year that New Build Carpentry was born, and Tom & Ian got the opportunity to provide the carpentry services to 4 units for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties.

This was a huge risk at the time with them leaving well paid and secure positions for a well-established company. A few months later, Tom and Ian had completed all aspects of carpentry themselves on these 4 units to the highest standards and, having impressed the site and production team, their first huge break came by winning 173 units in Colden Common. This site went on to win a NHBC Pride in the Job Award that New Build Carpentry Limited significantly contributed to receiving all 6s on the CQR results, the highest mark possible.

Three years on New Build Carpentry Limited have a large team of quality carpenters that share the same ethos as both directors. New Build Carpentry work with some of the largest house builders in the country, as well as some smaller bespoke developers. Now the company have one of the leading carpentry contractor names in the industry and strive to give what we promise to all our clients in production quality and health and safety.
